You don't have to shave, you dont have to bathe and if you want to just walking through water is enough. You dont have to brush your horse, or cook, or chop wood (see post # 26) or comb your hair. And while it's true your horse stores your weapons, by default you will always keep your pistols on you so it's no big deal if you forget during a mission.
