That's not true, the Red vs Alucard and Bowser vs Kirby matches only got around 28k. Well, SFF matches tend to get fewer votes anyway. Also, Red/Alucard and Bowser/Kirby were on the weekend (Saturday to be specific), which factors into the lower vote totals. I did some research a while back on average vote totals by the day of the week and determined that Saturday polls have the lowest average vote totals. The highest average is seen on Monday-Thursday (with very little variation), followed by Sunday polls, then Friday polls, and Saturday polls have the lowest average out of all the days in a week. Saturday polls have roughly a 12% reduction in vote totals compared to Monday-Thursday. Friday polls have about a 7% reduction in vote totals compared to Monday-Thursday.
