I've served my fair time in retail. Once you get out, it only gets worse.
"You said this would be built by Tuesday!" Yes, it's Thursday and you still haven't delivered the materials. "Well, why isn't it built?" Because we don't have the materials. "Well why is that??" Because you haven't delivered them. "Oh yeah, and why is that???" Because you haven't delivered them. "Well what do you want ME to do? ....get them delivered. "Oh, and that's MY fault?" Are you in charge of material delivery? "Yes!" Then yeah, it is.
Another one I love is when the shop rushes to get pieces out the door that aren't fabricated properly and have to get sent back. "Why isn't that steel installed??" Because you sent it out the door fucked up. "Well that's no excuse!" Actually boss, it is.
