Is that what Dragon Age has been about?

I only played the first one and it mostly seemed about fighting pseudo-orcs and a demon-dragon and some political backstabbing. And fucking a swamp witch.

I don't remember much about coming together because we are all we have or anything like that.

Then you really didn't pay much attention to the game you played tbh.

It's a major theme of it.

I don't know, it seemed more like a group of people and political frenemies begrudgingly cooperating, or not, to not be murdered and raped by the dark spawn horde.

I don't remember a lot of coming togetherness from Alistair when I opted to make Loghain a Grey Warden or Leliana when I dumped blood in those sacred ashes.

Really, you don't remember the entire alliance building of bringing together Elves, Dwarves, and Mages together with the remnants of Ferelden forces to fight against the blight? Your memory must suck since that was roughly 2/3rds of the fucking game.

I wouldn't call that "coming together because we are all we have". I would call it "frenemies begrudgingly working together, or not, to not be murdered by a horde of pseudo-orcs".

"Coming together" suggests more touchy-feely, friends and family stuff. Not the impression I get from convincing factions that don't like each other to fight a common enemy for their own survival.

Even in the party, that message sours with how easy it is for other party members to leave or turn on you.

Agreed. Zevran, Leliana, Wynne, Sten, Alistair, and Morrigan all at least consider leaving your party if you do certain things, and you can come to blows with several of them. That's hardly singing Kumbaya together.

Also, Origins is filled with racism and bigotry. That was downplayed massively in Inquisition.
