Imagine this weird guy comes up and offers the choice to a guy. He takes the save states.
But he keeps making mistakes and resetting. Through this he leads the perfect life.
But towards the end of the story its ten years later, he realizes he has a terminal illness. The doctor says were sorry, we caught it too late. If we knew about it sooner we could save you
No problem, the man thinks. He has always made sure he had a file from the beginning of all this just in case he needed to start from scratch.
But when he gets back to the past to check out the doctors, it turns out he is still too late to fix the illness. He is going to die within ten years no matter what.
So it ends with a depressed, broken man constantly cycling through the same ten years of his life, too afraid to accept death
