They will face no consequences if the reporting is accurate

And you will face no consequences if your speech isn't harmful and inciting murder, but you're still worried about it, right? How could the law ever be wrong?

If the laws can be changed so that your harmless statements are made illegal, then the law can be changed so that accurate reporting is illegal.

That is the danger.

That accurate reporting like "the Mueller report found Russian collusion" will be made illegal because it's embarrassing to the Leader, and then authority-loving sheep like you will point and say "oh that statement was made illegal so obviously it's false".

Although it's not like YOU need the law to trick you into believing lies. Your media has convinced you so easily about the collusion already, even though the report is public. The only question is whether you will take up arms against the enemies of the people, or stay hidden and let your comrades do it like at The Capital.
