Sounds like that judge needs to stop judging. He's obviously too out of touch with reality to do his job properly.

....well, he is 16, which *is* a juvenile. Might as well get rid of juvenile/minor status if you're going to try juveniles as adults.

Juvenile status exists as a means of diminishing the consequences for kids who make silly, immature mistakes, so that they can learn from those mistakes instead of having their lives ruined as a result. When the minor in question demonstrates that they know full well what the consequences of their actions are, though, or commits such a heinous crime that passing it off as a mistake would be unreasonable, they get tried as adults. The existence of juvenile status doesn't mean there can't be exceptions to it in exceptional circumstances, which I'd say this case qualifies as.

I would suggest death sentence but I'd rather someone break his legs so he'll suffer for the rest of his life.

Broken legs heal, outside of extreme circumstances. If you want to turn a broken leg into lifelong suffering, you'll have to do something like break it in half a dozen different places, then twist each break ~10 degrees before setting it so that his legs end up healing at ridiculous, non-functional angles.
