Topic	So watching Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time

If you had to teach those dysfunctional assholes you'd be an alcoholic too. Fuck, I'd be shooting heroin too if I had to listen to Asuka's endless bitching and Shinji's constant apologizing. Yeah, by themselves I'd tend to agree but Asuka and Shinji together has a ton of entertainment value imo. Asuka brings out a side of Shinji that you really don't see with anyone else. Episode 9 is pretty much my favorite episode of the show. Although that does owe a lot to the most glorious minute of mecha fighting ever. Asuka may be a bitch, and shinji a whiny coward but I've still got a lot of sympathy for them. At the end of the day, they're teenagers with the fate of the world resting on their shoulders. Shinji's dealing with depression and abandonment issues, and Asuka's definitely got some serious ptsd from seeing ~~her mother's suicide~~. Also, i'm not sure why people make such a big deal out of fly me to the moon not being there when A cruel angel's thesis is pretty much the perfect anime song. --- No matter where you go, there you are. <cite>PMarth2002 posted [p:924265361] in So watchin...
