we cant be imprisoning people for this though? right?

i mean a night in jail maybe but not actual prison.

Tampering with consumer products is a serious crime. Incredibly serious.
The charges reflect that.

a fine or probation. unless shes deliberately trying to spread a disease it just seems egregious.

Opening this law up to grey area is not an option.
It has a minimum sentence of 2 years, to act as a deterrent. To send a message that under no circumstances is tampering with consumable products okay, no matter how innocuous.

Take your pick

cool, give them the max then.
