While I'm aware there are indeed Christian socialists, it seems a bit hypocritical to me considering one of the forefathers and all around revered hero of socialism has a quote fondly remembered of him in uttering that religion "is the opium of the masses," a phrase which I sincerely doubt you'd find on the tongue of practically any Christian. However, I'm not without my own bias.
