Not always. Depends on where you are.

Assuming US army, one assumes divorce would be filed for in the US, and there are about 15 states or so where adultery as grounds for divorce can actually affect property distribution. And in some cases you can actually lose assets you had before the marriage, and otherwise lose badly in terms of who gets how much. Marriages of convenience are a bad game to play, even if you think you trust the other person involved.

It's also worth noting that adultery is still technically illegal in about 15 states, and if you're deployed overseas, you might accidentally trigger local laws that are even more severe.
