I had to google "open interview" and it sounds like a casting call (which is probably an inapt term, but I'm not sure what the fuck mods find offensive now). That kind of a scenario that... well, idk, barely feels like an interview at all. It's the kind of shit I would expect to do while in high school and looking for a summer job where I'd just show up and talk to the owner.

Id recommend updating your resume, if its six years old...

Good references are like an insurance policy. They help add a little peace of mind when you're against all odds.

The only thing I need to put on it is my current job, since it was my first one. Also I should point out that this place is a distribution center, so entry level positions probably consist of carrying boxes around and so on, nothing major.

Oh. Guess that kinda makes sense that they'd run things like that. I do remember when I was in college I once applied for some kind of a warehouse job like that where it was a group of applicants being given the tour and asked a few questions. I think they wanted more overnight guys, which conflicted with my schedule for whatever reason.

Ive only been to one open interview all they did was get me to write down my name and then told me to come back at a later day and time for a regular interview.

Yeah, the concept kinda sounds like a career fair.
