I've usually avoided AA type things because I don't like my life being defined by an addiction. And also Alcohol isn't my problem it's a chronic bad depression that despite so much of my life being spent addressing hasn't yet really changed enough. I need AA type support but for bad depression basically. They still are a good idea either way.
