The official report hasn't been released yet. While I have no reason to doubt it myself, it's funny how people who rail against anonymous sources will suddenly trust them implicitly the second it can fit their narrative.

Saying he had "broken bones" by itself is meaningless. Hanging is supposed to break your neck if done properly. The relevant bone in question here is the Hyoid bone.

Hyoid bone fractures are generally estimated to occur in about 20-25% of suicides by hanging (depending on the study) versus about 50% homicides by strangulation. Those 20-25% however are linked to incomplete hanging and age, specifically once you're over 40 due to "calcification of and immobilization of the joints." Epstein was 66.

An indication to continue searching for signs of strangulation for sure. Hardly a slam dunk.
