Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has suggested that China doesnt even need to negotiate with the United States they may decide to just step back, let Trumps tariffs ruin his own economy, and negotiate with the next administration when people vote Trump out over the losses.
That's what I've been telling my friends. Trump's approached the China situation so idiotically even if you agree that they're manipulating their currency (they are, though so do we via the Fed, we just can't do it as freely as they can). China has no real incentive to make things less contentious, and all the incentive to let the turmoil get worse. China's leaders can weather the storm of an economic depression much longer than Trump can, especially w/ his re-election coming in a year.
I'm genuinely rooting for Trump to not back down. Go get 'em, tiger! Make the tariffs even higher! Been waiting for like 5 fucking years for the next recession so I can finally buy into the stock market and purchase a house. Having it help boot Trump from office as well is just icing!
Yup. At this rate you'll get it. Definitely don't buy a home or car atm.
