^ There was a "speed war" among the burger joints. I remember McDonald's having timers at the counter to show how long it took. IIRC, that was in the '80s and maybe early-'90s. I believe McD's stated goal back then was under a minute. Or, maybe that was just McD's for marketing purpose -- my ~30 year old memories are fuzzy on that.

I worked at bk in thr past decade our target time was like a minute and thirty seconds. Reality was two to three minutes unless they were the only customer. And yeah we got timed and it got logged into a system where either regional or corporate could keep tabs on how well we did.

Our local McDonalds does this... and they get around it during their slow times. In the morning they dont actually put your order in the computer... until you pay. And then they immediately mark it as completed so it took like 3 seconds. This has lead to me getting several incorrect breakfasts.

Yeah my bk didnt do that that clock started ticking the moment a order was made and it didnt quit until the food was handed to them.

Would hwy 55 be considered fast food? They cook all their food to order and serve you like its a sit down place but they have a 5 minute goal time on getting food out.
