No. It's not the same. 1.) language acquisition is easier when younger 2.) a 15 year old america will speak english every day and be surrounded by people who speak english every day in most situations. It's likely that this person spent most of his time speaking chinese with people who also could speak chinese to him. If you live in a community where you don't need to speak English to communicate, it's trivial to survive without it. Thank you.
