Adding your level to damage isn't amazing and I don't think it scales particularly well either, and attacking with a magical weapon does very little for a magical blaster class. The Aasimar bonus to strength does more heavy lifting on a melee class that actually wants to hit things than it does on a warlock that wants to stack charisma to pump spell damage.
