Yep, on there bruh. Nothing is more fun than throwing a wrench in your DM's plans by flying over all their obstacles.

Edit: Damn, forgot about Hex. Throw out any 1st spell and put Hex in.

Cut comprehend languages for it. And Hypnotic Pattern might be better than Fly. Darkness is already giving you some good magical defense since anyone attacking into it takes disadvantage.

You just need eldritch blast tbh. Your other spells depend entirely on what flavor you are looking for. Remember your limited spell resources recharge a lot quicker than other people's spells.

Charm person, Hellish rebuke, Invisibility, Suggestion, Hex, Counterspell, Fly, Misty Step will all give you hella lot of mileage.

If you have Fly, can you learn any summons? My favorite trick in D&D was summoning things while flying and have them drop on the battlefield to kill friends and foes alike. Gravity don't give much a fuck about armor.

No. Flying and summoning both require concentration and you can only concentrate on one spell at a time.

What pact and patron did you pick? Regardless, the essentials are Hex (always keep up) and Eldritch Blast. Blink and Mirror Image are good defensive options, fly is always nice, hypnotic pattern is your go-to crowd control.I personally like Minor Illusion and the invocation that lets you do Silent Image at will, never did Major Image but it might come in handy. If you're the only caster you basically have to take Counterspell.

For your other cantrips go flavor and avoid any other damaging cantrips besides Eldritch Blast, and tell Blade Ward & True Strike to fuck right off. Idk if they can take it but Toll the Dead is a nice save or suck damage cantrip that can come in handy if your blast doesn't work.

Dude 5e can be straight up busted. I was doing stupid damage with Crown of Stars (magic item I think), Conjure Fey for I believe Annis Hag, and Eldritch Blast. Not to mention OOC utility, I went Pact of Chain and completely cheesed an encounter where we needed to fight a bunch of monsters and speak a command at the top of an airship, just sent a Sprite up there and spoke through it. Not to mention taking an Actor feat and completely fuck with anyone through the pet

Fallen Aasimar as a Pact of the Blade Warlock can do ridiculous damage. Necrotic Shroud combined with the pact weapon makes for easy encounters.

I'm not seeing it. Adding your level to damage isn't amazing and I don't think it scales particularly well either, and attacking with a magical weapon does very little for a magical blaster class. The Aasimar bonus to strength does more heavy lifting on a melee class that actually wants to hit things than it does on a warlock that wants to stack charisma to pump spell damage.

All that said, it's entirely possible I'm overlooking something.

since all your pact slots are always cast as the highest level you can get you may as well keep swapping to higher level slots. so fly, hypnotic pattern/fear, dispel magic, etc.

Aasimar's get +2 to Charisma and either + 1 to STR, CON, or WIS, they are very much a good warlock class
