Topic	Development thread for a full-scale video sharing site

Not enough income to sustain the infrastructure is one of the main reasons, which is why I have to plan all that out ahead of launch. YouTube is wicked expensive to run because it encodes in multiple formats and sizes and stores them in multiple locations so every upload ultimately consumes lots of space. I'm trying to figure out how to avoid needing a dozen versions of every upload without sacrificing any usability. I'm going to stick with the host I have now, and then move into owning the hardware and renting space in a data center once it's launched and stable, hopefully that will cut down on expenses. Tag. TC, No I don't have a YT channel, and have only posted one comment their, that got taken down, I think because I expressed that I am part Campbell, idk. Also, I do have to wonder how you'll handle copyright issues. That's what would freak me out. Copyright issues is really the only thing I'm not looking forward to haha. Google bends to every claim and their automated system is out of control from what I've gathered on reddit. I'd like to have a human reviewed process for that and only comply with the ones that I'd be legally bound to. I think the fair use doctrine would cover a lot of instances though. tremain07 posted... Hate speech isn't going to be tolerated, and I will have a more concise definition of that for the release. I certainly am not going to censor different political viewpoints, but if it crosses the line into slurs or attacks against people, that won't be allowed. Porn and illegal content such as murders and whatnot won't be allowed either. If it's an educational video about sex, it'll have appropriate filters, same with violence/gore like you'd see in an R movie. I'm going to have a very in depth page detailing what kind of content will be allowed --- ImgTC owner.
