That will mostly make hand held portable consoles obsolete, and....to a large degree, other consoles as well (just because of how cheap/easy it will be to access the full pc catalog from anywhere.

I dont see that happening anytime soon. The only real handheld competition would be Nintendo. And I dont see them being obsolete anytime soon. Theres no reason it would be...

And if its only accessing the PC catalog, its no better than a laptop. People play other systems for the exclusives. And they probably wont just give those away...

Might be that those games/studios themselves didn't want that though, since it would obviously impact their direct sales drastically in such a case.

That might cause a lot of games to not be on it, as well...

Less people are buying nintendo, or keeping it, then in the past, and that was without a really good alternative for portable gaming (3ds/switch).

I bought one, and eventually returned it and sold my game, because there just isn't enough games on the switch for me (and I have a Wii/Wii U for older games).

There are only a few games on the system (I already played oddysey) that I would actually get/enjoy (if I had freaking time), that are not available on PC at this point (octopath etc).

I did not like the small screen on the portable switch, playing odeysey on it sucked.

Wii U was also a total and complete waste, with just the Mario game really being worth it to me.

The Wii system was actually the last Nintendo system I feel was worth purchasing (for me).

PS4 is certainly worth it, and I don't regret buying the original or upgrading to the Pro. I don't regret buying the PS VR either...all very worthwhile.

But yeah, if Stadia works fairly well, and I can play games on the go (same games I play at home), I don't see anything that Ps5 can release at this point that would convince me to buy the system. I bought the PS4 primarily for Kingdom Hearts III which took forver to release...and I still have not finished.

I would of course go buy a ps4 now for all the games that are available...but would I buy one at this point in the first year or two of release......nope....and I doubt I will for the ps5...even if Stadia flops....because I just don't play my ps4 enough and I have YEARS of games in my backlog on it already.

So yeah...stadia costing only $10 a month and you can pretty much choose to stop paying for it (like netflix etc) and start again when something else releases.....it's pretty much perfect for me, and will be for many other people who have waaaay to many games but want to play a few new releases etc.

Some of the first issues seem more personal to you. You didnt like the small screen, but others are fine with it. Or there werent enough games for you, but there were for others. You didnt like the Wii U, but other people did. Just like how I dont care for Stadia, while you do. It comes down to preference a lot of the time... Just because you donr care for the exclusives doesnt mean others wont...
