I worked with someone like that who went out of their way to try to get misgendered, because of the opportunity to get on a pulpit about the subject. So freaking annoying. It didn't last long because eventually management realized that attending every Diversity & Inclusion bullshit workshop isn't a substitute for, you know, actually delivering quality work. Some people got fired after that realization and the workplace became a lot better.
