It was better at 8.1 I believe. My doctor wants it below 7 but i'm taking all the oral medication I can (Glyberide and metformin (or metropolol I always get them confused, one is for high blood pressure).

It may sound like I eat alot but I don't really, I stopped drinking soda (was very hard) and I rarely ever eat ice cream (and then just one or two spoon fulls). I skip bread on any sandwiches, and I limit myself to a few slices of pizza max per week (and I don't eat the crust).

Keep trying to exercise more but life gets in the way. Trying to start playing table tennis again, but got exhausted after 1 1/2 hours last Sunday (and wasn't ready to play again on monday, my legs were thrashed). Gonna play tonight (tomorrow...thursday whatever) again though.

I generally walk a few miles a day as well, and hope to start playing Beat Saber again (have not since I moved here really). I used to do that 2 hours a day...it's good aerobics.

Durring the summer I also swim laps at a pool about 1/2 mile away, but it closes in the winter, so no dice.

Gonna have my A1c checked again on the 22nd, but...my grandfather died, I went to NY and I've been depressed etc, so not exactly been a great 3 months as far as following my diet and avoiding carbs (especially in NY!!), although at least I have pretty much stayed away from soda during the process (I also moved in that time and well, when there are new places to eat it's hard for me not to try them.

Luckily I have not gotten kidney stones or any other negative effects of high A1c so far. My doctor wanted me to start using insulin shots 2 years ago, but I had an A1c over 9 at that point, and I have kept it down below that since then (did get it to 7.8 for awhile).

I do my best but shrug, not much left in my life to enjoy, so food is about it, makes it hard to cut out all the food I like, especially since there are many things I can't eat (make me sick to do so), eggs, most melted cheese (other then swiss and mozz basically), most things like mayo, yogurt etc. I don't like a ton of veggies either, though I have expanded on that and can eat a bunch I don't hate at least (brussle sprouts/asparagus/brocolli etc).

I have not made my lasagna in forver (Well over a year now) for instance.

Hardest part is I've been trying to cut back on/cut out beef as well (to help the environment and stop supporting companies that treat cows so horribly). It's really hard to cut out most carbs AND beef because honestly that is pretty much 98% of what I used to eat (meat and potatoes + pizza = me).

I hope to get in a routine with exercise and that will let me take less oral medication and start to eat a bit more carbs without a high A1c....so I can relax my diet a bit. Still will always be hard to not drink soda though.

What is worse, I didn't even drink THAT much soda, compared to many people, and didn't eat candy/ice cream much either (I couldn't handle much sweet before it would be too much). I think it was basically pizza and soda that made me diabetic *sigh*
