I just got Pinna Park and did some Shines there. My thoughts so far:

Pros:
-Great graphics! The colors really pop
-Fludd is a lot of fun to use
-It's pretty cool that you can see a bunch of worlds in the backgrounds of each other. It makes it feel like the entire place is connected instead of just random locales
-The Fludd-less levels are pretty fun to go through
-I like the scenarios that Sunshine gives you instead of having to explore a level to hunt for an objective like in 64

Cons:
-All the levels feel samey >_> It's very beach-oriented with some slight differences and set pieces in each level
-Mario doesn't feel as fluid as he did in 64. No long jump, no backflip, etc. really sucks
-Only 7 levels feels pretty short, especially if they feel the samey
-I heard there's some REALLY dumb shines like the Mantra Ray one and the chuckster one.
-Blue coins are bad. idk why they thought these were a good idea. I just took 10 minutes to do something in Isle Delfino and got 1 blue coin for it. Searching the levels for all of them sounds really tedious
-I heard the 100% reward is just a postcard lawl
-Apparently you HAVE to get at least 7 shines in each level to unlock the final area instead of just letting you collect a certain number from whereever like in all the other games. That's dumb.

Overall I am having fun, but I can tell that this is definitely the weakest 3D Mario. I still haven't gotten Yoshi yet either.
