this weirdly, something weird. Ok, I'm short so my feet don't reach the floor in my chair, but I added the pillow, and now my feet reach the floor.

How?

It adjusted the angle at which you're sitting in the chair so you're leaning forward more, so now your feet touch the ground. This tells me your seat probably has you leaning back quite a bit, which may be what stressed your tailbone in the first place. You should try to adjust your seat (height, pan depth, pan angle) so it presses evenly along your entire thigh and butt. If you're too short to see your monitor while also having your feet on the ground (which you'll need to even out the pressure like that), you might want to consider getting something to rest your feet on.
