Another instance of "how can I have never played a sequal to a game that I cherished so much?" Banjo-Kazooie is responsible for some of my fondest childhood memories playing games. That has a lot to do with the fact that it was toward the end of the era when my older sister still played vide games with me, before she lost all interest. There's something way more magical about a game like BK when you're exploring it with someone else. Just flat out adored that game so much, and some of the music still pops into my head from time to time. So you can imagine my excitement to learn that they were making another one, right! Well, apparently not because I never checked it out! No excuse at all here. 10 year old me would not approve.
