Literally untrue. They both utilise action oriented gameplay, rather than turn based. On approach of an enemy, the player character prepares for combat automatically. You can hold the attack button and the player character will unleash a basic combo until you stop pressing it. They both use a similar mechanic that pauses or slows down gameplay, so you can cast spells or use items (Wait/Classic mode). You can send commands to the characters you aren't controlling during combat. Summons become available when the game lets you use them, rather than deciding for yourself. After combat, the game switches you back to the main character and doesn't let you explore as the aliies. These are all things that apply to both games.

For starters, you can pretty much beat FFXV by holding down the attack button and chugging Potions.

By this logic, "Classic" mode lets you beat the game without touching the controller.
