Think of all the resources that would be wasted that way.what resources? the ones that would have been immensely easier to mine from the kuiper belt, or any asteroid belt in any other system between theirs and ours? the only resource unique to our planet is people, and they weren't picking up scores of people to populate their zoos and dinner tables. no, the only reason they attacked in that movie was to get rid of a potential future threat (as stupid as that is). and smart aliens with intergalactic traveling abilities would have just pummeled our planet with space rocks from a distance. --- Taarsidath-an halsaam.
