The entire premise of anti intellectualism is taking things out of context and spreading it as literal fake news.

I remember this article being used against gay rights campaign:

The article simply said scientist can't pinpoint specific gene that is linked to homosexuality, but more of a complex combination of various DNA spread troughout the gene map, yet the idiots use at as the support of "homosexuality is a choice" bullshit.

That's a good example because what conservatives succeeded with was framing the entire discussion around an assumption that being gay was bad. Like, even if it were a choice, it wouldn't change anything. But by taking that discussion, progressives opt in on the assumption that anyone who could choose should choose to be straight.
