Super Metroid | Mother Brain (13 points) Nominated by: rwlh (3/5 remaining) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwt740KznHE Importance: 2.5 Fear: 4.5 Snake: 6 Sounding like a track from the conclusion to a huge sci-fi space opera, there are clashing elements here that give the track both a concentrated, focused-in bass pulse-pounding rhythm perfect for gameplay mixed with tension building organ stings for an added layer of fear & hopelessness. I feel like this track almost speaks to you, as if Mother Brain's cries become the literal music you hear during the fight, driving your resolve to finish the fight. It has a time signature I believe of 7/8, furthering adding to its uncanny depth & atmosphere. It's just a well composed track front to back, helping solidify Metroid's themes of isolation & alien environments and it's just what I love to see in video game music. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
