Voltaire captures the imagination here with this dark cabaret-inspired track, an upbeat swingin' ode to Code Blue flesh for all the relationship-challenged men & women out there. Known for his horror tracks with a morbid sense of humor, Zombie Prostitute might be one of Voltaire's most dark & gruesome songs but also one of his funniest at the same time, firing off puns & zingers with every line, euphemisms that sully the mind with vivid images of sexual promiscuity that draws comparisons with rotting, undead body horror. It's creative as hell, and the mood is always kept light thanks to Voltaire's fast-moving, tongue-in-cheek line delivery coupled with an almost ska-punk feel with a vibrant horn section, drums that drive a breakneck pace, and the addition of a violin gives the track an ironically classy vibe despite the subject matter. This is essential Voltaire, and as he arrives at "baby keep the tip" as the music cuts out, just try keeping a straight face with this awesomely enjoyable piece!
