I really like Bela Lugosi in a lot of other roles, particularly another Universal horror movie The Black Cat, but I couldn't get into his character in Dracula and then when you hold it up against Christopher Lee as Dracula it really pales imo. Then there's the atmosphere side of the movies, I much prefer the rich colours of the Hammer productions. Generally I've found most of the Universal monster movies underwhelming so far, The Wolf Man and Invisible Man were cool though. Claude Rains' character is a pretty funny and mischievous troublemaker. Planning on watching Son of Dracula soon, recently watched Dracula's Daughter.
