that's different from what you initially said, which made it look like trump wanted to ban adopting for gays in general, then you supplied nuance which showed it was only for christian organizations

a far right approach would ban gay adoptions ignoring anti discrimination laws, a far left approach would force christians to do what they want them to do and what goes against their religious belief, ignoring freedom of religion laws

trump took the centrist route which is the only route not forcing anyone to do anything, basically letting organizations do whatever they want, i don't see an issue with the only route not using force to abide one sides outlook

The issue is...kids need to be adopted and denying on sexual orientation makes it unnecessarily more difficult for kids to get a parent all based on nothing more than biggotry. I would hope the catholic organizations also don't deny people who aren't also catholic. Not mention the whole thing pretty much makes no sense at this point with the current pope.
