I now know that more than one future can exist simultaneously, I also know that from some perspectives, at least one version of me has gone through this situation. Regardless of which time traveler I listen to, it will just result in another me going through this same thing. Due to the multiple timelines, the dilemna before me is entirely meaningless and all instances of me(in the subset that experiences this situation) will know that. As such, every me will seek to create another significantly different timeline. In some of these, the me making the choice will manage to alter history in a way that results in time travel technology being brought back to another me.
