(First Thoughts: There are a lot of songs I feel like giving exact 50s to. This is one of them.)

I always thought Touhou music was hit or miss, but this song found a way to make me feel nothing. I guess thats impressive in its own way.

One of many songs that Ive come close to nominating at the VGM rating topic, but never pulled the trigger on. Its got a very sad sound to it and is not at all what I would expect for the theme to a fighting games final boss. But its not a song I love (Id probably only give it somewhere between 7 & 8 points at the ranking topic) and I doubt itd inspire much discussion or interesting ratings, so its always felt like itd be a waste of a nomination.

Of course its a waste to talk about it here, too...

[Not-Quite-Final Thoughts: I guess I like this a little bit, so it can go up slightly to the low 50s.]

[Final Thoughts: I suppose its battle themes in general that have a hard time getting high scores from me, not just RPG related ones. Which makes sense, but I never really gave any thought to it until right now.

Other than that, I cant find anything beyond the usual song is fine, but doesnt make me think of anything writeup thats going to be incredibly common for the next... however long this tier goes on for.]

(First Thoughts: I like the sounds used to create the music, but Im not as into it as I probably should be.)

Good concept: I like the idea of him revisiting his earlier styles and seeing how far hes come as an artist.

Good sounds: I like low-quality samples, so this does seem to be my type of thing.

But when I ask myself if I actually like it, I can only answer with something noncommittal like I guess?. It just never fully clicks for me; possibly because Ive never had any interests in Zombies Ate My Neighbors from a game or soundtrack standpoint, so I have no particular thoughts on the song hes trying to remix? Or...some other reason, I dunno.

[Final Thoughts: I still dont get why I dont like this more than I do. Its a great idea, it just...never gets beyond the low 50s.]
