How does he come back from the dead?She makes a wish on a wishing rock that grants wishes, and his soul possesses some random dude's body. The audience just sees Chris Pine instead of the actual body's appearance because that's what Diana "sees" after realizing it's him. No one really bothers to care about the fact they've taken over some innocent man's body and are using it to facilitate a lot of illegal stuff to get Wonder Woman's stuff done.
