Topic	LOTR is a good story but it's not very progressive when you think about it.
UnfairRepresent 01/09/21 8:38:59 PM #1:	All of the bad guys are ugly and pathetic. Orcs are digusting, dirty, have no redeeming attitudes and are just "evil" Wormtongue is all in the name. Sauron looks like an evil monster. Fantastical animals like Shelob and the Balrog are just mindless ugly evil creatures. The movie made this even worse by making all the heroes ridiclously good looking despite traveling through the woods and dirt all the time. Even Sam looks good. Fucking Sam. Would have been nice if there was a good guy who sounded like First Enchanter Irving or if there was a giant spider at Rivendell. I mean Aragorn being king because he looks nice when he smiles and has the right bloodline is kinda fascistic logic when you think about it. I mean what does he know about trade or tax rates or plumbing or building roads? I mean this guy isn't president: It just oozes "Sexy and good looking = good. Ugly = bad."
