I was her first white guy and not very many of her friends liked me mostly because I'm white. On VD, I got her gifts and took her out, we had been dating for almost half a year by then. It was the first time anyone had done that for her, granted she had only seriously dated two others. Two of her friends saw how I spoiled her on VD and ended up dating white guys. We broke up a year later, like a week before Valentines Day. A few years ago I started dating a girl at the Beginning of February and didn't know the proper etiquette for VD since we were still new. I ended up just getting her flowers, I couldn't go out because I was working that night. Later one of her friends told me that my gf was kinda disappointed in me for that lack luster Valentines Day.
