But my point is that the Germans denying that are not doing so because of Christian Values. They're actively defying Christian values. They're doing it because 40% of the country is Atheist and rising every year while only a small minority of the 50% Christians there (which plummets every where) are practicing. It's a secular country. If they go along with the homophobia, those numbers continue to change. The progression isn't coming from the religion, it's coming from non religious people and the religious people are having to come along for the ride reluctantly in order to not die out. In areas where they don't have to do this in order to not die out, the hatred and bigotry in the religion remains. Hence the Pope saying you're not allowed to bless gay people. If you continue to ignore this, you just empower the bigotry with your feigned ignorance.
