Holy shit, some of these responses. Like I get it, when she was coffeebeanz she would go to a topic that was complaining about the GOP with the typical "but what about democrats" which got very annoying and would sometimes try to change the topic so she can can do the "both sides" thing, but people's opinion can change and honestly I saw it flat out in real life.

I have 3 uncles who are doctors and are loaded, so yes all three of them are... or for better wording "were" Republicans. They are first loved Trump for his "macho" and "sticking it to the libs and dems" attitude. The biggest turning point for them was when Covid 19 happened and not only did they saw Trump's attitude being a piece of shit about it, but his terrible response and misinformation that followed it especially from Trump's supporters. The first time in their life they were being called fake actors and get death threats about it; people who are clearly not from the medical field to somehow claim to be experts on how viruses works, to being called a Chinese spy because they're asian (Vietnamese). For most people who turn away from the GOP, it's always because they get personally affected by its own ideological bigotry. So you either stay as a Republican admitting your party is ran on selfishness and paranoia or you get out because of it.

So anyways, I'm 3/4 Vietnamese and 1/4 French. One thing that has been taught in our household when it comes to solving problems is to shrug it off and either ignore or solve it without complaining about it. Always say you don't want any trouble because any actions you do not only affects you, but it represents your friends and love ones as well... and I'm very sure that I'm not the only asian to be raised up with this kind of mentality. You see this a lot especially in East Asian countries like Japan and South Korea. It also plays into the "model minority" bs and why asian voices tend to not be heard as loud as other minorities like Blacks or Hispanics. It's a culture problem that I see slowly eroding away for many second generation Viets like myself.
