You can still be anti American, while supporting for sanctions against China from EU, America and the rest of the world. Your line of thinking is pure 100% nationalism and the thinking people want to use to other other people, to make you pick a side, to make you "be American" to "be patriotic". Be it worshiping the flag, truly being whatever nationality it is you are and so on, it's never done with your benefit in mind but the states.
