Topic	I don't get what people see in traditional Zelda games. BOTW is so much better

There is nothing fun about that in terms of exploration. You're not gonna run into a cool side mission, a deep cavern of lore, etc. etc. It's all empty. The most interesting characters are dead already or largely absent, the villain is more or less disappointing (especially compared to how fleshed out he was in Windwaker, for example), and Zelda comes across as really whiny.
