I'm not going to reveal publishing houses. The first book I had published took about 4 months to get my first draft ready to send out (consider that it's a children's book if that seems fast). From there it took about 6 months of sending it out to literary agents before one agreed to take me on and about another year before it was published. I got knocked back by about 40 agents.
