In a last ditch attempt by the Conservatives, just one day before voting day, Trudeau's blackface scandal returned to the voters when a new picture of him in blackface and a turban at a Arabia themed party in 2001 returned to the headlines to have voters remember of his racist past failed to materialize. The first pictures of him in blackface occurred in the 2019 campaign as well but voters did not punish him as harshly and the Liberals returned to power in 2019 with 155 seats. ...wait, he did that in 2001?
