Interesting. How so?

Just on a very nebulous and personal level. As a teen (in the late 90's or so, sometime after OoT came out), I started to imagine a Zelda game talking place in a world so big that you could never explore it all. I think Zelda 2 inspired this thought in particular because it was the only game in the series with both an overworld map and more than one or two villages; so for once Hyrule actually felt like a big, diverse worldspace, even if the actual gameplay only took place in small fragments of it. So I thought it would make an awesome game template to remake Zelda 2 in a massive open world; keep the six temples, the 8 or so towns, and just a sprawling, unforgiving wilderness between them for you to explore.

BotW's Faron Jungle (especially the ruins found there) ended up being so close to how I'd pictured the jungle area in this fantasy Zelda 2 remake that it was almost frightening. The giant warrior statues in the Gerudo desert were also very similar to something I'd imagined as well. It's didn't end up being an overall 1-to-1 comparison, of course - I'd pictured more dense forests and arid climates than grasslands - but BotW is probably the closest I'll get in my lifetime to getting a literal 'game of my dreams.'
