A full term live delivery would've been about half that with this insurance. On the bright side that $5000 is her max out of pocket for the year so everything she does for the next two months is 100% paid by insurance. But there's plenty of stories of people who did everything right their whole lives going bankrupt and losing their entire life savings because they had the audacity to get cancer or something.
