I mean, there's tons of 20 years old that are able to live independently. And is brain development is that important for rights. Why isn't brain decline taking into consideration by the "brain is fully developed at 25" crowd? It litterally start to decline in your 30s as well as having a higher chance of health issues.

Beside adult for what? Drinking age? Military age? College age?working age? Debt culture is already horrible as it is waiting for people to be 25 to be able to make adult decisions would be sorm ridiculously overprotective. And honestly the difference between a 22 and a 25 years old is barely noticeable compared to 18 and 15

Right but as I was trying to illustrate earlier by bringing up the 1880 consent laws, you only think raising the adult age higher than 18 seems ridiculously overprotective because of the time and place we exist in. In 1880 someone may just the same have balked at raising AOC above age 12.

Personally, I think the law will eventually catch up with the science as it has done for centuries they used to think of adolescents as adults which is absurd and similarly in the future theyll look back at our notion of adulthood as absurd.
