Right but as I was trying to illustrate earlier by bringing up the 1880 consent laws, you only think raising the adult age higher than 18 seems ridiculously overprotective because of the time and place we exist in. In 1880 someone may just the same have balked at raising AOC above age 12.

Personally, I think the law will eventually catch up with the science as it has done for centuries they used to think of adolescents as adults which is absurd and similarly in the future theyll look back at our notion of adulthood as absurd.


The science never said you are unable to make adult decisions until you are 25. It just said you are more likely to make a decision based on emotions before that.

I mean you are giving examples out of kids that did not reach puberty compared to people who stopped growing. To an extent I migh understand why some people might think 21 might be more reasonable, but 25 is just stupid, you don't need a fully developed pre frontal cortex to start making decisions, you don't magically become a new person the moment you turn 25 and infantilizing people in their early 20s will just make them vulnerable 25 years old.
