| Topic | Is Halloween essentially dead where you live? |
| Hexenherz 10/31/21 11:29:28 PM #7: | So I live in a quiet neighborhood that's like a few tracts of townhouse developments and a couple cul-de-sacs with a few houses. To get to the community you have to walk on the side of a highway (no sidewalk) or drive down the highway. So even before COVID it wasn't too poppin'. I think in 2019 we had like maybe a dozen or two families show up. Honestly this year we didn't even buy candy and put the decorations up and lights on. Some neighbors did get together to do a candy table and social event... I just never feel the need to get out and talk. After living here a couple years I did convince the wife to go out with me and hang out and it was just really awkward. idk I feel like if there were more activities I would go, maybe I should do that next year - take something like a halloween-themed cornhole set and some punch or something down there so people can at least do something while talking rather than just stand around.
