It seems so to me, at least compared to the scale that I remember when I was a kid some 20 years ago. Back then, almost every house would be open for trick-or-treats and you would see children everywhere on the streets.
Now, barely any house has lights on at night and you might be lucky to bump into more than two families. Emphasis on "family," because it is pretty much impossible to see children by themselves anymore. At least one of the parents will be tagging along. I feel like even if COVID-19 goes away, Halloween will never be the same with over-protective parents. --- Nintendo 3DS Friend Code: 3368 - 1137 - 5460 http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Gamecubesupreme/sf7y9s.jpg ... Not in my town. Just moved here this year and there had to have been at least 500 trick or treaters down our street in a matter of a couple hours. Most Ive ever seen.

It wasn't huge, but we probably got 20-30 people this year, which is now than we've had since moving here 5 years ago.

I live in an area with a lot of College/University students, so Halloween parties were plentiful last night.
I'm surprised at the complete lack of trick-or-treaters on my street, but basically my entire street decided to skip this year so I'm not that surprised that if there were any kids, they didn't bother coming down my street. ... Copied to Clipboard!

So I live in a quiet neighborhood that's like a few tracts of townhouse developments and a couple cul-de-sacs with a few houses. To get to the community you have to walk on the side of a highway (no sidewalk) or drive down the highway.
So even before COVID it wasn't too poppin'. I think in 2019 we had like maybe a dozen or two families show up. Honestly this year we didn't even buy candy and put the decorations up and lights on. Some neighbors did get together to do a candy table and social event... I just never feel the need to get out and talk. After living here a couple years I did convince the wife to go out with me and hang out and it was just really awkward. idk I feel like if there were more activities I would go, maybe I should do that next year - take something like a halloween-themed cornhole set and some punch or something down there so people can at least do something while talking rather than just stand around. Bobbing for apples would be dope too but obviously terrible idea with the COVID. --- New World: Herzog Erislieb (Karpathenburg/US East) | RS3: UltimaSuende https://letterboxd.com/BMovieBro/ ... We didnt get 1 trick or treater tonight. Not a single one.
We usually go through at least 2 big bowls of candy every year for kids, other than last year which we didnt give out candy cause of covid. I couldnt believe it. My neighborhood was pretty much a ghost town tonight.. not many houses lights were even on. Felt depressing for how big Halloween used to be around here. --- Pineapple belongs on pizza ...
